ITU Policy and Economics Colloquium IPEC 2019, 26-30/08/2019, Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo


The ITU Policy and Economics Colloquium IPEC 2019– 26 to 30 August 2019, will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This activity is organized by the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT), in close collaboration with the Dominican Telecommunications Institute - INDOTEL of Dominican Republic.

The first two days will be the discussion workshop: 5G and new technologies, followed by the ITU Regional Economic and Financial Forum of Telecommunications/ICT. The ITU Policy and Economics Colloquium IPEC 2019 will also benefit from the presence of international experts involved in the work of ITU-D Study Group 1 Question 4/1 (Economic policies and methods of determining the costs of services related to national telecommunication/ICT networks) through the holding of an Experts' Knowledge Exchange on related topics, to be held the afternoon of Friday 30 August, which is open to all participants.



The  ITU Policy and Economics Colloquium IPEC 2019​ will focus, among other interesting subjects, on connecting the unconnected in a digital converged world, the economic and financial issues in a converged broadband environment and the new challenges in the digital ecosystem. Participants are invited to make presentations or participate as panellists to illustrate the situation in their countries on these issues, in order to promote dialogue and exchange of experiences.
