In the framework of WTDC-14 Resolution 47, I am pleased to inform you that the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is going to execute a series of events to promote Broadband Infrastructure for Development, including Conformity and Interoperability (C&I), for the Americas Region during the Congress FUTURECOM 2015 at the Transamérica Expocenter, in São Paulo, Brazil, from 26 to 29 October 2015. The FUTURECOM is one of the main ICT events in Latin America, which purpose is to gather key market players, offering to companies and professionals a stimulating environment for business development and networking.

PURPOSE

The workshop will promote discussions on Conformity and Interoperability (C&I), market competition and quality of telecommunication services, including its importance for the use of ICT applications. During the workshop will be presented also initiatives on ICT applications related to e-Health, e-Government, among others launched by different countries and organizations and facilitating a dialog between all stakeholders involved that can accelerate the development of interoperability of these applications on a global basis.
