Youth employment opportunities in the digital economy in Ethiopia: Afar and Somali regions. This report aims to provide an insight into the opportunities that the digital economy can provide and the challenges in accessing them. ILO and ITU conducted this joint assessment of youth employment opportunities in the digital economy, in the frameword of the partnership between the ILO and ITU to support the Government of Ethiopia’s (GoE) development plans and Digital Ethiopia 2025. This joint venture also reinforces PROSPECTS, a partnership launched with the support of the Government of the Netherlands that brings together the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the ILO, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Bank, and aims to help transform the way governments and other stakeholders, including the private sector, respond to forced displacement crises.
Nigeria Skills Challenge Innovation Call: ILO and ITU, with the support of the African Union, have initiated a programme to create decent employment and enhance skills for youth in Nigeria's digital economy. This call invites targeted institutions to propose innovative ideas, solutions and practices to contribute to youth employment in Nigeria through digital skills development.

Decent Jobs for Youth: An impact-driven alliance seeking to improve the quality and quantity of jobs for young people. It is the global initiative to scale up action and impact on youth employment in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
ITU-ILO Digital Skills Campaign: The initiative which is part of the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth is led by ITU and ILO. The campaign addresses the skills gap by encouraging partners to make commitments to invest in digital skills development for young people.
ITU Digital Transformation Centres: The Digital Transformation Centres (DTC) Initiative was launched by ITU in partnership with Cisco with the objective of supporting countries to strengthen the digital capacities of citizens, particularly in underserved communities. See the list of DTCs in Africa.
