Girls in ICT Day Celebration Addis Ababa on 24 April 2025

​Every year, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with different partners come together to celebrate the annual Interna​tional Girls in ICT Day. The event, which takes place on the fourth Thursday of April, aims to inspire, and encourage girls to pursue careers in science, engineering, technology, mathematics and engage effectively in the digital sector.

In this regard, ITU ROA held this year the National Girls in ICT Day celebrations that take place under the theme “Girls in ICTs for an Inclusive Digital Transformation" on Thursday, 24 April 2025 at the African Union Head Quarter in Addis Ababa.  

The national celebrations brought together mentors, girls, young women, and youth to exchange their experiences and shared knowledge around the challenges and opportunities to pursue leadership roles and actively engage in the digital sector and beyond.
