ITU’s support to LDC5
ITU has a clear mandate on the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action as a specialized agency on Information Communication Technologies and has participated in the development of the DPOA, and will, in accordance with a developed action plan, contribute to the implementation of the targets set out in the ten-year program. ITU is indispensable in the achievement of the DPOA, as with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), due to the cross-cutting and all-pervasive nature of ICTs (Information Communication Technology) (Information Communication Technology) (Information Communication Technology). ITU has participated in the development of the program and supported member states in their negotiations to ensure that digital transformation, which is imperative for socio-economic development, is properly captured in it.
