Regional Preparatory Meetings for WTDC-17

WTDC Resolution 31 (Rev. Hyderabad, 2010) calls for the organization of one development conference or regional preparatory meeting per region to coordinate, at the regional level, the preparations for the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC). In preparation for WTDC-17, the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) organized six regional preparatory meetings (RPMs) in 2016 and 2017. Each RPM was preceded by a one-day Regional Development Forum.

The Regional Preparatory Meeting for WTDC-17 for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took place from 9 to 11 November 2016 in the Kyrgyz Republic, preceded by the Regional Development Forum for the CIS on 8 November 2016.

The Regional Preparatory Meeting for WTDC-17 for Africa took place from 6 to 8 December 2016 in the Republic of Rwanda, preceded by the Regional Development Forum for Africa on 5 December 2016.
