WSIS Forum 2018 High Level Dialogue - An end to electronic waste: Building an E-waste Coalition



Wednesday, 21 March 2018  (13:30 – 15:00), CICG Room 2  

This High Level Dialogue highlighted the current global challenges relating to e-waste. It provided a platform for the signing of a Letter of Intent by the Heads of participating United Nations entities, to strengthen their organizations' commitment to UN system-wide collaboration on tackling e-waste. The panel provided a platform for discussion towards a possible e-waste coalition.

​As the UN specialized agency for ICTs, ITU helps Member States to take advantage of the opportunities of ICTs to address the challenges linked to climate change, and to address the issue of e-waste. This includes the identification of guidelines, awareness raising and capacity building activities, the implementation of projects, and direct assistance to Member States.
