My name is Weerachat Kongchun. I am a Computer Science graduate from Bangkok University, Thailand. I was first introduced to ITU by Mr. Kittipat Yingpanyachok, the Dean of School of Science and Technology, when I had freshly graduated and worked as an Internet Marketing Executive for a successful Website Development company.

As soon as I got accepted by the ITU, I realized that my life and career would turn in a new and challenging direction. I could not have hoped for a better beginning for challenging experience. Starting at ITU regional office, I was impressed by the warm welcome and all kindly support from the staff.

So far, I have learnt a lot about the Asia-Pacific and global ICT industry. Regional workshops and seminars have further enhanced my knowledge. It is always exciting to meet the speakers and participants who are experts in the ICT sector from various countries. Especially, I was impressed by the professionalism, depth of knowledge in their chosen field and ability to answer the most complicated queries pertaining to the topic of the speakers. These workshops and seminars allow me to realize the importance of ICT development in the developing countries.

I would like to convey my deepest gratitude to the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) for providing the Youth Incentive Scheme to support young people in the ICT field. Without this programme, I would never gain such precious knowledge and experience. These are invaluable and would go a long way in providing me with a strong foundation for a bright future. I hope that I will be able to utilize these knowledge and experience to help develop my country in ICT.

Lastly, I would like to urge the BDT and sponsors to continue to help support the Youth Incentive Scheme and all initiatives in the BDT Youth Programme so that the next generation can advantage and enjoy from the same opportunity.
