focus on key policy issues driving the current ICT environment that will
guide ongoing global ICT policies, regulatory and standardization

Internet-related public policy matters
implications of the advent of NGNs and advanced broadband access
ICT and the environment
strategies for creating confidence and security in the use of
ICTs
capacity building in support of the adoption
of IPV6
international telecommunication regulations (ITRs)
The high-level strategic dialogue on ‘Confronting the Crisis’
will bring together leaders from government and industry to address the
problems facing vendors, operators and governments. The discussion seeks
to formulate proactive strategies to help the ICT sector weather the
economic storm as well as leverage the power of ICTs to accelerate
recovery in other sectors. |

- A press
conference will take place in Lisbon on 22 April on key
issues to be addressed by the meeting and the strategic dialogue.
- While access to
working sessions will be restricted, plenary sessions will be open.
Accredited Press will have access to the Media Centre with online
facilities and work stations as well as Press conferences and
interview rooms.
- The Strategic Dialogue on 21 April will be televised and
webcast live

Pre-registered journalists will be requested to present their
confirmation letter, together with their passport or ID card to receive
an official WTPF-09 Media badge.
