World Telecommunication Policy Forum to convene in Lisbon

Strategic dialogue to focus on the financial crisis confronting the ICT sector

What: World Telecommunication Policy Forum (WTPF) & Strategic Dialogue on ICTs: "Confronting the Crisis"
When: 21-24 April, 2009
Where: Lisboa Congress Centre, Lisbon, Portugal
Why: Discussion on implications of the financial crisis in the ICT sector; Opinions on Internet-related public policy issues, Convergence, Next-generation networks (NGN), and International Telecommunication Regulations (ITRs)
Who: Policy makers, industry leaders and analysts. Key Strategic Dialogue sessions will be moderated by renowned TV anchor Stephen Cole.
Media accreditation WTPF-09 will be open to media. Accreditation is compulsory.

www.itu.int/newsroom/wtpf/2009/accredit/. Please carefully read the procedure before completing the online accreditation form.

Pre-registered journalists will be requested to present their confirmation letter, together with their passport or ID card to receive an official WTPF-09 Media badge.

Unannounced journalists will be required to undergo the full accreditation process. Please ensure you have available the necessary supporting documentation.
Media information
  • A press briefing will take place in Lisbon on 22 April on key issues to be addressed by the meeting and the strategic crisis session.
  • While access to working sessions will be restricted, plenary sessions will be open. Accredited Press will have access to the Media Centre with online facilities and work stations as well as Press conferences and interview rooms.
  • The Strategic Dialogue on 21 April will be televised and webcast live
