Why: |
The Internet is playing an increasingly
important role in global communications, information, entertainment and
education. National top-level domains, called ccTLDs are an important part
of the Internet.
This workshop aims to review Member States'
ccTLD and other related topics, recognizing the activities of other
entities active in this area. A key goal is to understand ccTLD
experiences and expectations.
Descriptions of legal systems, the role of
governments, relations between governments and ccTLD operators, and
relations with other relevant private sector entities are among the topics
expected to be discussed. |

Who: |
The participation of Member States, ccTLD
operators, entities active in this area, the user community; NGOs,
intergovernmental organizations, network operators, regulatory authorities
and of other standards-development organizations is sought. The workshop
is open to both ITU members and non-members, and is free of charge. |
