Digital terrestrial broadcasting: Design and implementation of single frequency networks (SFN)

Digital broadcasting techniques have been massively introduced over the last years. They allow for the use of single frequency networks (SFN), in which the same frequency is assigned to all transmitters in a given service area in order to broadcast the same programme.
This report examines the concepts and the features of SFNs, common to every type of standard in use in the ITU Regions, as well as various other digital transmission standards.
