Television has built its history on the fundamental desire of human beings to extend their audiovisual senses spatially and temporally. HDTV is one of the great achievements of television.
This Report contains the results of the study on ultra-high definition television (UHDTV) and describes the present state of UHDTV. It addresses the baseband image format and the derivation of system parameter values in particular. Also included is a description of the operational experience of providing UHDTV coverage of the London Olympics.
