This strategic foresight research brief explores the evolving landscape of healthcare, examining how digital health technologies, emerging technologies, changing disease burdens and health system reforms will shape access to and delivery of care worldwide, but particularly in developing economies. Leveraging ITU’s strategic foresight methodology, the study anticipates long-term shifts in care models, health data governance and workforce needs, identifying strategic opportunities for policymakers, health providers, technology innovators and communities.
The foresight brief series is a collection of research reports designed to help ITU Members navigate the uncertainties of an increasingly digital future. It is being developed by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development (the Alliance) under the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau.
