Changing Faces of Science and Tech

The photo exhibition Not a woman’s job? is organized by the Perception Change Project at the United Nations Office at Geneva with the participation of the European Organization for Nuclear Research and the International Telecommunication Union.

The Organizers have invited ITU stakeholders to submit photos featuring the achievements and stories of women (18+) who have challenged gender stereotypes and overcome barriers in the field of science and technology.

Maria Dimou, computer scientist at CERN, contributed to email gateway configuration, X.500 directory protocols, and web support during the web’s inception. Involved in the WLCG project for 13 years, Maria chaired the CERN Academic Training Committee, initiated the IT rapid e‑learning project, and led the Documentation project, working closely with Sir Tim Berners‑Lee. She contributed to the CERN IT Education Strategy and led the creation of the Educational Materials Catalogue.
