Changing Faces of Science and Tech

The photo exhibition Not a woman’s job? is organized by the Perception Change Project at the United Nations Office at Geneva with the participation of the European Organization for Nuclear Research and the International Telecommunication Union.

The Organizers have invited ITU stakeholders to submit photos featuring the achievements and stories of women (18+) who have challenged gender stereotypes and overcome barriers in the field of science and technology.

Maria Alandes
CERN

Maria Alandes has been a computer engineer at CERN since 2005, working in software development and networking. She is part of the team managing the computing infrastructure that analyses the particle collisions produced at the LHC. Maria also takes part in outreach activities explaining science to the public, has developed computing workshops for children and mentors younger colleagues.
