Photo exhibition: Not a woman’s job?
Changing Faces of Science and Tech
The photo exhibition Not a woman’s job? is organized by the Perception Change Project at the United Nations Office at Geneva with the participation of the European Organization for Nuclear Research and the International Telecommunication Union.
The Organizers have invited ITU stakeholders to submit photos featuring the achievements and stories of women (18+) who have challenged gender stereotypes and overcome barriers in the field of science and technology.
Celebrating women who dare to lead, innovate and forge new paths in science and tech:
Assist. Prof. Gergana Georgieva, PhD, from the Faculty of Physics, Department of Meteorology and Geophysics of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” initiated in 2014 the installation of the first Bulgarian Antarctic seismic station. Since 2015 she has lead scientific projects for seismicity and glacier movement in Antarctica and is member of five National Antarctic expeditions. She maintains the seismic station and makes the seismic and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) measurements on the glacier surface.
