ITU Deputy Secretary-General, Mr Houlin Zhao - Biography, short version

Biography:

Houlin Zhao has served as Deputy Secretary-General of the ITU since 2006, and was re-elected for a second four-year term in October 2010.

Prior to his election, he was Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Standardization Bureau from 1999-2006.

He is committed to further streamlining ITU’s efficiency, strengthening its membership base and enhancing strategic partnership between Member States and Sector Members.

He is married with one son and two grandchildren.
