10th Green Standards Week

​The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) together with other entities and UN agencies organized the 10th Green Standards Week taking place virtually from 14 - 16 December 2021 from 09:00 - 12:00 CST / 16:00 to 19:00 ​CET. 
 
The Green Standards Week is an annual event where standard experts, city planners, policymakers, industry specialists, civil society, and other global stakeholders gather to discuss the latest trends of information and communication technology (ICT) and digital transformation in accelerating sustainable development worldwide.  
 
The objective of the 10th  edition was to discuss the latest e-waste management trends and explore the road to achieving sustainable digital transformation in Latin America. The region has undertaken remarkable measures and initiatives to tackle the e-waste and sustainability challenges. During the event, the case study on the implementation of ITU-T standards and sustainable management of E-waste and circular economy in Costa Rica was launched.
 
At the 10th Green Standards Week, experts and panelists from the Latin America region shared their experiences and highlighted the role of international standards in achieving net-zero within the ICT sector and bringing sustainability to digital transformation.
 
Discussion was held in English and Spanish.
