(22 January 2008) A new version of the SPS software application (v5.9.0.1) has been released. SPS v5.9.0.1 contains an updated version of the MSPACE and BSS_Marg software applications that now:
- ignores notices with a status (notice.st_cur) less than 20; and
- accepts symbol "L" for assignments with linear polarization.
As part of an ongoing program to harmonise symbols used in the SRS and SPS_ALL databases, the symbol "LE" has been phased out and replaced with the symbol "L" for the linear type of polarization (grp.polar_type). The polarization symbol has been changed from "LE" to "L" for all linear polarized assignments in the SPS_ALL database. SPS (version 5.9.0.1 and later) and SpaceCap (v5.4.6 and later) software packages must be used with this and subsequent databases.

(2 October 2007) A new version of the SPS software application (v5.8) has been released.
SPS v5.8 contains an updated version of the MSPACE software that, in the FSS Plan analysis, in addition to the previous plain text file format, can now analyze AP30B notices in the BR SPS/SNS database structure, which is compatible with the corresponding interface of the Spacecap (version 5.4 or later) BR software.
In retrieving diagrams from GIMS database, MSPACE now takes into account the Notice ID in addition to the diagram key attributes namely; administration symbol, satellite name, orbital position, beam name and E/R tag of Appendices 30, 30A and 30B assignments.

Due to the consequential deletion of one beam of the LSTAR3B network, the Reference Situation (EPM) of the Regions 1 and 3 downlink Plan and List and of other Article 4 submissions, which are still at the stage of application of that Article, has been updated accordingly.
· Appendix 30B Plan Updated
(26 August 2003) In accordance with resolves 5 of Resolution 146 [COM6/1] (WRC-03), the Radiocommunication Bureau has computed the complete reference situation of the Appendix 30B Plan and the associated List of assignments (i.e. for all test-points) using the revised earth station antenna reference patterns given in Section 1.6 of Annex 1 to that Appendix. The reference situation will be used for subsequent application of the provisions of Articles 6 and 7 of Appendix 30B (Rev. WRC-03). The Bureau has published this information in tabular format in BR IFIC 2501. It may be downloaded here.

(11 June 2002) The Bureau is pleased to announce that it will now be providing the technical characteristics and reference situation (EPM) for Appendix 30/30A Plans & Lists and for pending Article 4 networks in database format. The Space Plans Systems (SPS) database has been developed as an extension to the SNS database. MSPACEg ascii files will no longer be provided as this information is now incorporated into the SPS database. Note that the SPS database does not yet contain data for Appendix 30B networks; the AP30B FSS Plan will continue to be provided in MSPACEg ascii format.

· New Version of MSPACEg/SPS software (v2.01) Released
(16 April 2002) A new version of MSPACEg/SPS software (v2.01) has been released. This version has a modified algorithm for treating BSS assignments with Assignment Type = "V". In the past, interference from such assignments were not taken into account. However, with version 2.01, interference between assignments within the same MSPACEg beam with Assignment Type = "V" is taken into account. This is the same method applied to margin/ reference situation calculations for assignments with Assignment Type = "A". This change affects some Region 2 Article 4 networks. Corrigendum to their Part A Special Sections will be issued in due course.
· Corrigendum 1 to Circular Letter CR/158 Published
(18 March 2002) In accordance with an RRB decision, the Bureau has published Corrigendum 1 to Circular Letter CR/158. The Circular Letter addresses the required amendments and refinements to Annexes 2A and 2B of Appendix S4 (WRC-2000) which should be taken into account by administrations when submitting notices to the Bureau under Appendices 30, 30A and 30B.

(12 March 2002) The RASCOM-1F network was recently published in BR IFIC 2464 of 5 March 2002 in accordance with § 6.49 of Article 6 of Appendix 30B. A number of MSPACEg files have been made available on this website to allow administrations to run an examination on this network.

· New Version of MSPACEg software (v1.964) Released
(13 August 2001) A new version of MSPACEg software (v1.964) has been released. This version corrects an inconsistency found in the previous version (v1.963) related to the application of a protection mask for the "worst case approach" as defined in Section 4.4.2.1 of Attachment 7 to the MSPACE Manual. The mask is used in EPM calculations for some assignments in the Regions 1 and 3 List having analogue emissions and which were brought into service before 17 October 1997. For cases of interference into the above-mentioned assignments involving "non-standard" emissions such as "non-standard" bandwidths and/or "non-standard" centre frequencies, the protection mask defined in the second part of the Section 4.4.2.1 of Attachment 7 to the MSPACE Manual was used instead of the protection mask defined in the first part of that Section.

(26 June 2001) A new version of MSPACEg software (v1.963) has been released. This version corrects an inconsistency found in the previous version (v1.961) related to the application of power flux-density (PFD) limits, as specified in Section 1 of Annex 1 to Appendix 30. (31 May 2001) The MSPACE group code for the AFG24501 & AFG24502 beams was changed from "7E" to "7I". This very minor alignment does not change the reference situation of any beams in the Plan.
