Radio Astronomy Stations

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Radio astronomy stations are radio stations providing the radio astronomy service defined by Article 1.58 of the Radio Regulations.

Any frequency to be used for reception by a radio astronomy station may be notified if it is desired that such data be included in the Master Register according to the Radio Regulations No. 11.12.

This page provides useful guidelines and materials for the notifications of frequency assignments to radio astronomy stations to the Master Register.

How to submit notifications

​​​​​Notification should contain mandatory information listed in Appendix 4, captured using SpaceCap in electronic format and be submitted via e-Submission system.

Antenna pattern

Antenna radiation pattern information shall be provided for the notification of a radio astronomy station.

Examination and Findings

After a notification is submitted to BR, receivability examination is conducted and leads to publication of Part I-S. Then a regulatory examination is conducted, which may lead to favourable or unfavourable findings (publication in Part II-S or Part III-S respectively). In the event of unfavourable findings, the notice will be returned to the notifying administration.
