ITU Regional Radiocommunication Seminar 2019 for CIS and neighbouring countries, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 10-14 June 2019

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​At the kind offer of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications (MITC) of Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in collaboration with the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC), is organizing the Regional Radiocommunication Seminar 2019 for CIS and neighbouring countries (RRS-19-CIS), to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 10 to 14 June 2019. RRS-19-CIS will be organized in three parts as follows:
 

1.       Plenary Session
The first part of the seminar (half day) will cover ITU-R structure, ITU Radio Regulations (RR), preparations to the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC), an introduction to the activities of the ITU-R Study Groups and some other general issues.

2.       Workshops
During the following part (three and a half days), workshops will be carried out on the application of regulatory procedures for space and terrestrial services, including coordination, notification and examination of frequency assignments, as well as on the use of the BR software, databases and electronic publications.

3.       Forum
The Seminar will conclude with a one day Forum on: “Trends in Spectrum Management and Emerging Radiocommunication Technologies"

In addition, a pre-seminar web tutorial will be available on this page with the basic concepts of spectrum management at national and international levels and other related information to assist in the preparation of the participants to the seminar.

Languages
The Seminar will be held in Russian, please note that some software tools will be in English only.

Format
The seminar documentation will be available here. Participants are required to bring their laptops, performing the set of minimal specifications detailed in the top right corner of this page.

Registration
Member States, ITU-R Sector Members, Associates and Academia from CIS and neighbouring countries are invited to attend the Seminar. Its attendance is free of charge for their representatives. Registration for this event is carried out exclusively online, through their respective designated focal point (DFP). The list of DFPs for ITU-R activities, including this Seminar, is available here. Advance registration of all participants is strongly advised. Unannounced participants might face further delays at the on-site registration desk. Please note that citizens of some countries are required to obtain a visa in order to enter Uzbekistan. Please refer to instructions in this regard on the above-mentioned documents.

​Fellowships
Recognizing the difficulties faced by low-income countries, the ITU offers one partial fellowship per eligible country of the CIS Region and neighbouring countries, with priority given to requests coming from least developed countries (LDCs). Fellowships should be requested by designated focal points during the online registration process (see "Registration" above) and must be submitted before 17 May 2019.
