Recognizing the difficulties faced by some countries, and within the available budget, fellowships may be granted for certain ITU-R events.
When available, one fellowship is offered per eligible Member State.
For some regional ITU-R events, fellowships may only be offered to delegates representing Member States of a specific region.
Member States are encouraged to consider gender balance and the inclusion of delegates with disabilities and with specific needs when proposing candidates for fellowships.
How to submit a fellowship request
Register to the ITU-R event.
Make sure to request fellowship during the on-line registration process by completing the relevant section of the registration form.
Your registration request will be forwarded to the corresponding Designated Focal Point (DFP) for ITU-R event registration.
Registration approval by the corresponding DFP is a prerequisite to submit a fellowship request.
- Upon approval of the registration request by the corresponding DFP,
a pre-filled fellowship request form will be emailed directly to the delegate applying for a fellowship.
The fellowship request form should be signed and approved by a duly authorized officer of the Administration; the official stamp of the Administration must also be applied.
- It is the responsibility of each delegate to ensure that the duly completed, signed and approved form is submitted, before the deadline, to the ITU Fellowship Service at firstname.lastname@example.org or by fax to
+41 22 730 5778. Forms received after the deadline will not be considered.
Fellowships are available (to eligible Member States only), for the following ITU-R events:
1. A full fellowship includes one (1) return economy class air ticket by the most direct/economical route from the country of origin to the location of the event, as well as a daily allowance to cover accommodation, meals and incidental expenses.
2. A partial fellowship includes one (1) return economy class ticket by the most direct/economical route from the country of origin to the location of the event OR daily allowance to cover accommodation, meals and incidental expenses.
