A Joint Declaration on collaboration on Cybersecurity Capacity Building and Gender Inclusion in Cybersecurity in the Western Balkans was signed between the Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C),
joint partnership between the Governments of France, Montenegro and Slovenia and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on 22 May by Dr. Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Development Bureau and H.E. Ambassador Tadej Rupel, National Coordinator for External Aspects of Digitalization, AI & Cyber Security in the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia.
The Declaration will ensure close cooperation and collaboration in several areas of interest, including:
- Strengthening cybersecurity capacity in the Western Balkans, including on initiatives related to gender inclusion in the cybersecurity field; and
- Capacity building of women in cybersecurity policymaking and diplomacy offered through the “Her CyberTracks” initiative.
All this is in line with
PP Resolution 130 (rev. Bucharest), ITU-D priority on “Inclusive and secure telecommunications/ICTs for sustainable development”, and the ITU Regional Initiative for Europe on ‘Trust and confidence in the use of telecommunications/ICTs’ and the Women in Cyber Programme.
