BDT Director's Corner: Activities

​BDT Director Doreen Bogdan-Martin addressed the World Benchmark Alliance's Government-Investor Roundtable focused on Digital Inclusion at the 76^th UN General Assembly.

She noted that having amplified the case for inclusivity, COVID has also given us this unique chance to rewrite the narrative and make digital inclusion a 'new normal'.

To make this happen, Ms Bogdan-Martin explained that it will take all of us working hand in hand to get connectivity out to underserved areas, and to make sure that everyone has the skills to leverage it. ''Building back better with broadband'' will be imperative to get the world back on track to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

She noted that the World Benchmarking Alliance has been a long-term partner of ITU, and urged governments and the private sector to ''tap into the transformative power of digital partnerships to leave no one offline.''​
