BDT Director Doreen Bogdan-Martin gave opening remarks to the second session of the TECH TALKS with ITU Development Sector's (ITU-D) members, an interactive session with the Scientific and Industrial Organizations (SIO). The TECH TALKS serves as platform for ITU-D staff and members to explore integrated and scalable solutions to accelerate the use of ICTs for development.
Ms Bogdan-Martin noted that as the speed of revolution in science and technology continues to increase, there is much scope to work collaboratively to harness science, technology and innovation to help achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals.
Recognizing the added value that ITU-D members can bring to ongoing initiatives such as Connect2Recover (to leverage digital technologies to support pandemic recovery and preparedness for a post-COVID normal); Giga (to connect schools to the internet); and the International Centre of Digital Innovation, I-CoDI (to help stakeholders integrate innovation into their national development agendas and activities), Ms Bogdan-Martin invited participants to share their ideas on advancing development through digital, together.
