BDT Director's Corner: Activities

​BDT Director Ms Doreen Bogdan-Martin met with Mr Rodney Taylor, Secretary-General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), accompanied by Mr Nigel Cassimire also from the CTU, on 12 April 2021. They explored strengthening collaboration between ITU and CTU to enhance digital transformation in the Caribbean region, while also working together in preparation for the 2021 World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-21). The BDT Director was accompanied by Mr Stephen Bereaux, Deputy to the Director; Mr Bruno Ramos, Regional Director for the Americas region; and Mr Cleveland Thomas, Area Representative for the Caribbean. She shared the vision for and new approaches to WTDC-21. They also discussed ongoing collaboration on a number of projects with CTU, priorities for the region, and potential new areas of cooperation to help boost the digital capacity of the region.
