The global celebration of International Girls in ICT Day was co-hosted by the CIS and the Arab States regions, featuring a live link between Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and Nouakchott, Mauritania, along with distinguished panellists from around the world, live streamed for global audience.
In Bishkek, the event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic while, in Nouakchott, the celebration was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transition, Innovation, and Modernization of Administration of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
The intergenerational dialogue, co-moderated by the BDT Director, provided an inclusive platform for girls, young women, women leaders, and experts in
the ICT sector for dynamic discussions on how to bridge the gender
digital divide for a fully inclusive digital transformation, to inspire current and future generations of girls
and women to lead and thrive in an increasingly digital and
interconnected world.
The event presented an opportunity for government officials, leaders in the ICT sector, and representatives
from the ITU-D Network of Women and beyond to come together and
demonstrate a united commitment to empowering all girls and young women
to ensure an inclusive digital transformation process and build a
barrier-free digital future.
