ITU-D Study Groups were pleased to invite you to join us for a web dialogue focusing on the power and role of cloud computing in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Cloud computing has brought major technology disruption in the digital era. As part of the work of ITU-D Study Group 1 Question 3/1, a group of experts from ITU Membership has been studying issues ranging from technical requirements for cloud computing to its implications on regulations, infrastructure demand and resilience, and innovation opportunities, with the support of the BDT Regulatory and Market Environment division.

This web dialogue focused on ways to leverage cloud computing amid the current COVID-19 crisis to ensure business continuity, contribute towards social goals and enable fair innovation opportunities. The speakers highlighted cloud use cases designed by public institutions and private players in response to connectivity challenges and needs of all kind that have emerged amid the crisis. An open discussion with all participants explored the related challenges, opportunities and lessons learned. The insights and findings gathered through the web dialogue and fed into the final output report of Question 3/1.
