Theme: Innovating together to save lives: using technologies in disaster management
Venue: Intercontinental Hotel, in Balaclava, Mauritius
GET-19 highlighted the role of technologies in disaster risk reduction and management. Discussions focused on how the use of technologies in disaster risk reduction contribute to the achievement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. GET-19 also featured breakout sessions on “Innovating to save lives” and a natural disaster simulation exercise.
Organized by ITU, the UN specialized agency for ICTs, the event was hosted by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority of Mauritius (ICTA).
