ICT and Telecommunications in Least Developed Countries: Review of Progress made during the Decade 2000-2010. The vulnerability of least developed countries (LDCs) to external economic shocks, the environmental effects of climate change, as well as their low levels of literacy, among other factors, challenge the ability of LDCs to meet national and international development goals, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The Role of ICT in Advancing Growth in Least Developed Countries: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities. This report is being published on the occasion of the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC-IV), that was held in May 2011, Istanbul, Turkey. 2006

ICT and Telecommunications in Least Developed Countries - Mid-Term Review for the Decade 2001-2010. The report was prepared as an input to the Mid-Term Review process of the Third United Nations Conference Programme of Action for the decade 2001-2010. The report gives a brief overview of Information and Communication Technologies and Telecommunications, market trends, policies, challenges and opportunities in LDCs. It also discusses the implementation of deliverables submitted by the International Telecommunications Union to the Third United Nations Conference for the LDCs and the resulting impact. The report demonstrates that progress is being made towards the attainment of universal access to ICT by LDCs and that the targets set by the Programme of Action will be met by most of the LDCs.

Integrating LDCs into the World Information Society. This promotional brochure describes the Programme for the Least Developed Countries and the strategy that ITU puts in place to assist these poor countries with a view to integrate them into the information society through ICTs. 2004

The Application of Information and Communication Technologies in the Least Developed Countries for Sustained Economic Growth. A lot has been said about the digital divide that exists between the developed and the least developed countries (LDCs). Yet so little is being said about the opportunities that exist in the ICT Sector in the LDCs. This report takes a very close look at this group of countries and advances the argument that ICTs can play a catalytic role in getting these countries out of their current poverty trap. In that respect, a win-win outcome for both the investor and the countries is not in question. Available for sale.
Global ICT Forum for the Least Developed Countries: Forum for ICT Stakeholders. This book was published on the occasion of the Global ICT Forum for the Least Developed Countries aimed at building partnerships to mobilized resources so as to enable us to move from pilot projects to large scale, targeted and sustainable infrastructure projects that can make a difference in people's lives. Two project documents are published in this publication: ICTization of Schools-cum-Communities in Bhutan and Promotion of Multipurpose Community Telecentres in rural Malawi.
