​ ​Internal Audit and Advisory Services​​

​​The role of Internal Audit is to serve as an independent and objective assurance and advisory activity, aimed at adding value and improving the operations of the organization. By adopting a risk-based planning approach, Internal Audit provides reasonable assurance that:

The ITU internal audit function shall be carried out in adherence 

  1. to the mandatory elements of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (from the Institute of Internal Auditors) and relevant practices promulgated by the Representatives of Internal Audit Services of the United Nations Organizations, Multilateral Financial Institutions and Associated Intergovernmental Organizations (RIAS) and 
  2. to the OU policies, standards, and guidelines.  

​​Reports of the Internal Audit

​​​​​​The disclosure of reports to parties outside of ITU is regulated by the Organization's information/document access policy with due consideration for confidentiality. The list below shows all reports that are disclosed to the public in line with this Policy. 

Internal Audit reports may be made available to authorised parties on request. Member states or their designated representatives can now request access online. The secretariat will respond to such requests as soon as possible.
