​Newspapers are highly esteemed historical sources, and their digital transformation multiplies their usage. Current digital news media constantly develop new channels and modes of communication, redefine the roles of all stakeholders, and transform the news into an infinite process. The IFLA 2014 Pre-Conference focuses on the transformation aspects of both digitized as well as born digital news media. ​

AGBD is our partner for organizing this conference. L’association genevoise des bibliothécaires et professionnels diplômés en information documentaire (AGBD) est une association à but non lucratif fondée en 1972. C’est un groupe d’intérêt de l’association Bibliothèque Information Suisse (BIS).

The Satellite Meeting took place at the International Telecommunication Union, in its Geneva headquarters. 

The Secretariat of the Satellite Meeting was run by the ITU Library & Archives Service.

The IFLA World Library and Information Congress is the international flagship professional and trade event for the library and information services sector.
It brings together over 3,500 participants from more than 120 countries. It sets the international agenda for the profession and offers opportunities for networking and professional development to all delegates. The congress also offers an international trade exhibition with over 80 exhibitors and an exhibition of approximately 1000sqm. The combined buying power of all delegates can be estimated at more than 1.2 billion dollars.

The Congress IFLA WLIC 2014 will be held in Lyon, France, from 16-22 August 2014.
