Bernard Niclot is Technical Director of the
FIA, where he is responsible for managing the FIA technical department and providing advice and guidance on technical issues relating to both motor sport and motoring. He has been involved in the automotive sector since graduating from French Polytechnique engineering school with a Ph.D in applied mathematics. He went on to work in the technical departments at Peugeot Talbot Sport (1987-1993) and the Ferrari Formula One team (1994-1997). In 1998 he moved to South America, where he was General Director of Vallourec Composants Automobiles (VCA), a producer of automotive components. He returned to Europe in 2003 as Head of Innovation Chassis, Transmission and Safety at PSA Peugeot Citroën. Niclot joined the FIA in 2010.
