FG Full Service VDSL - Deliverables

​The FG-FS-VDSL produced a five-part Focus Group Technical Specification (FGTS): It also delivered six whitepapers with an overview of the FS-VDSL specifications:
  • FS-VDSL Service Scenarios (2002-11): This Whitepaper describes end-to-end network scenarios for offering high speed Internet, digital television and video on demand services.
  • Channel Change Protocol (2002-11): This Whitepaper describes how the broadcast channel selection works in an FS-VDSL compliant system architecture.
  • Core Network Solutions (2002-12): This Whitepaper describes possible solutions to core networking which support of the delivery of the full range of services supported by the FS-VDSL architecture.
  • Grooming of Video Broadcast Network Content in the Digital Headend (2002-11): This Whitepaper describes the Digital Broadcast Network content processing at the Service Node.
  • Required OLT/ONU bandwidth for video services (2002-12): This Whitepaper addresses OLT/ONU bandwidth requirements to support video services in an FS-VDSL compliant system architecture.
  • Glossary (2002-12): This Whitepaper provided a list of terms used in the FS-VSDL Focus Group Technical Specifications.
After approval, four parts of the FS-VDSL Focus Group were transposed as two ITU-T Recommendations and one Supplement, as follows:

NOTE – FGTS FS-VDSL Part 4​​ specified the physical layer details for implementing triple-services over VDSL and was deemed at the time too implementation-specific for transposition as an ITU-T Recommendation.
