Panel Discussion 1 - Towards a Sustainable Future: Smart Sustainable Cities
As rapid urbanization threatens the quality of life of urban citizens over the past few decades including Latin America, the concept of Smart Sustainable Cities has emerged as a remedy to this sustainable urban development. This session will discuss how to define Smart Sustainable Cities and the discourse that commonly associates with it.

ICT and the ICT sector form the backbones of a smart sustainable city where economic growth and quality of life are complementary to each other through careful urban planning strategies. This session will explore the role that ICTs and the ICT sector play in shaping smart sustainable cities. This session will also look at how ICT solutions can be integrated in the context of Latin America.
