ITU is organising a Workshop on Digital Financial Services and Financial Inclusion, in partnership with the World Bank and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, on 19 April 2017. The workshop will be hosted at the World Bank.
The main objectives of this workshop will be to disseminate the final outputs of the ITU Focus Group Digital Financial Services (FG DFS) and provide an overview of future events, which will take place for the next phase of digital financial services.
The ITU Focus Group Digital Financial Services, which was established in 2014, has completed its work and produced a set of 28 technical reports and 85 recommendations that will fast track policy reform to support developing countries in implementing their financial inclusion strategy and promoting digital financial services at scale. The Focus Group was chaired by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

here and cover a wide range of topics such as merchant payments, consumer protection, quality of service, competition issues, security issues, digital identity and distributed ledger technology applications in financial inclusion.
