Connecting the world and beyond

ITU and FCDO Collaboration

ITU and FCDO Collaboration

ITU and the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) have been working together since 2021, on a far-reaching digital inclusion project.

The project seeks to promote effective regulation, encourage sustainable investment, and strengthen capacity building to achieve meaningful connectivity in underserved communities.

Digital divides remain in all five FCDO Digital Access Programme (DAP) countries (Brazil, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa), and the project works towards closing the gap, benefitting from ITU’s technical expertise as well as ITU's extensive stakeholder and partner network, through technical assistance provided to the countries. With the partnership, ITU and the FCDO aim to complement each other's activities, programmes and goals in relation to digital inclusion, sustainability and capacity development.
