Summary: A stable and self-sustained statistical evaluation procedure is required in the development of objective quality algorithms. This is required regardless of whether the algorithms will be used for estimating subscriber perception of voice, video, audio or multimedia quality. Recommendation ITU-T P.1401 presents a framework for the statistical evaluation of objective quality algorithms regardless of the assessed media type.
