Characteristics of a dispersion-shifted single-mode optical fibre cable

This Recommendation describes the transmission related attributes of single-mode optical fibre and cable with zero-dispersion wavelength shifted into the 1550 nm window. Definitions and test methods are contained in a separate Recommendation, ITU-T G.650. Table of recommended values of this fibre type is provided to allow ease of reference with regard to the types of systems that are supported. Allowed ranges are recommended for both fibre and cable attributes. Information for link attribute and system design is found in Appendix I.
