تعرّف التوصية ITU-T G.709/Y.1331 متطلبات إشارات السطح البيني لشبكة النقل البصرية (OTN) في شبكة النقل البصرية من حيث:
- تراتب الشبكة OTN
- وظائف الموارد الإضافية لدعم الشبكات البصرية متعددة أطوال الموجات
- هياكل الأطر
- معدلات البتات
- الأنساق الخاصة بتقابل إشارات العملاء
وتتضمن الطبعة 6.1 من هذه التوصية إضافة جداول بمعدلات GCC ، وتحسينات لوصف سلوك OTUCn-M، وإضافة تذييل يصف الآثار المترتبة على إدارة الأعطال في حالة عملية تشكيل OTSiG (de) وما يرتبط بها من وظيفة OTSiG-O|OCh-O_TT الواقعة في المعدات المجاورة، وعدة تصحيحات مطبعية/صياغية.
