I-CoDI Welcomes 18 Practitioners to its Innovation Community
ITU’s International Center of Digital Innovation (I-CoDI) welcomed 18 I-CoDI practitioners to its international network. The new members of the I-CoDI team are recent graduates of the Accelerated Innovation Workshop for Facilitators, which was developed in partnership with the UAE Government, Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) and held in Dubai, UAE, from 10 to 15 October. The intensive learning workshop was based on the I-CoDI Playbook, a resource guide and toolkit developed to accelerate action and innovation within multi-stakeholder environments. Read More
I-CoDI Panel Discussion at GITEX: Regional Perspectives on Accelerating Connectivity & Digital Transformation
Dubai – On Monday, 10 October, the ITU International Center of Digital Innovation (I-CoDI) and the UAE Government, Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), will host a panel discussion on the challenges, opportunities, and professional experiences of regional experts in Accelerating Connectivity and Digital Transformation.
The panel discussion held at GITEX, one of the world’s most significant and forward-looking tech events, will be moderated by Amal AlQasim, Team Lead for the Digital Capabilities team at TDRA, and animated by I-CoDI Global Lead Kasia Jakimowicz. The 45-minute exchange at the TDRA Government Stand will feature expert opinions and insights on organizational efforts to accelerate connectivity & digital transformation in the Arab, African, Asia and Pacific, South America, and European regions. The Connected Digital Capacity Platform Pilot in Ethiopia works with ITU connected initiatives to target young women, youth, women and the government
Young women:
The African Girls Can Code Initiative: a four year project to together Girls from all over the African continent across different languages to spark their interest in ICT as a career path and to empower them as young promising innovative women on the Continent.
Youth:
ITU-ILO Boosting Decent Jobs: the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), with the support of the African Union (AU), initiated a programme with continental reach to create decent employment and enhance skills for youth in Africa’s digital economy
Generation Connect Regional Youth Group & Youth Hackathon: The Generation Connect Global Youth Summit will be held on 2 – 4 June 2022, at the Intare Conference Arena, in Kigali, Rwanda to provide an opportunity for meaningful youth engagement, consultation, collaboration, empowerment, participation and calls for action address the digital divide and related topics, including digital skills, gender, climate change, online safety, the future of work, entrepreneurship, digital dependencies, and more.

ITU-EIF Tech as a Driver of Women’s Economic opportunity
Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) and ITU, contributing to the EQUALS Global Partnership that works with policymakers to mainstream a gender perspective in domestic policies and regulations to ensure women participate fully in the digital economy.
Women in Cyber Program
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) and EQUALS, the global partnership for gender equality in the digital age of which ITU is a co-founder, jointly organize the programme. It is key to ongoing efforts of ITU-BDT to close the digital gender divide, by mainstreaming gender-focused activities across our priorities. Women in Cyber, engages role models in the field of cybersecurity and connects them with talented women in Africa, the Arab region, and Asia-Pacific.
