categories of EEE for the case of Argentina was made, the so-called tracers, which are shown
in Table 2.
Tracers were selected from available information sources, mainly from INDEC, that collect data
from the whole country.

3 2 3 Geographic scope
The geographic scope of this study is the entire territory of Argentina, with the pertinent
location, demographics and economic indicators, and how it adapted to the use of information
technologies during the pandemic, as mentioned in section 2.1 Demographic and economic
indicators.
The following factors have also been considered:
1) The country has a domestic production of EEE.
2) The EEE consumed in Argentina are imported and distributed throughout the country.
Import databases have a national reach.
3) These national databases do not allow the identification of importers by regions or smaller
geographic units (provinces).
4) The PREAL project identified 26 WEEE managers. 27
3 2 4 Time frame
The definition of tracers considered the time horizon 2010 to 2020, the period for which the
National Institute for Statistics and Censuses has records. This made it possible to analyse the
behaviour of imports, domestic production, and exports.
27 There is no database on MAyDS.
