Electrical and Electronic Equipment: On the road to a circular economy in Argentina
3.4 Players and stakeholders in the sustainable management of WEEE
in Argentina
Once the methodology to be used was determined, producers, importers, and managers were
defined as the stakeholders involved in the study due to the activities they perform as shown
in Figure 6:

The contact information on importers and producers was provided by the different representative
Chambers around the country, while the PREAL project provided those of the 26 managers.
It should be noted that although other players are mentioned in this report, the main ones
considered in this document were producers, importers and managers.
3.5 Data collection: Surveys of EEE importers and WEEE managers.
To obtain primary information from two of the main players involved in the start and end processes
in the WEEE management, as suggested in Recommendation ITU-T L.1031, two surveys were
conducted and were made available to the players on the Internet. These instruments have been
useful as a baseline input for the generation of the material flow and mass balance described
in section 3.6, as well as to identify opportunities for strengthening the players involved.

The instrument was structured into four sections: section 1 focused on obtaining general
information to identify the subject and the organization providing the information; section 2
focused on identifying general knowledge related to WEEE management; section 3 focused
on obtaining information about the measures implemented within the framework of the EPR
on WEEE; and section 4 focused on gathering information about quantities, lifetime and
percentage of sales by type of customer, for each of the tracers placed in the market in 2020.
