                   3 1 1  Existing information analysis

                   To have a reference framework and to implement the Recommendation, existing information
                   from primary and secondary sources was reviewed. The sources of information consulted and
                   analysed were the following:
                   1)   National policy and legislation in force issued by the National Congress and the Executive
                        Power, from which the current legal and management framework was identified.
                   2)   Database of EEE imports and exports for the period 2010–2020 produced by the National
                        Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC), from which the number of trade codes in force
                        in the country was obtained, imports and exports behaviour over time was analysed as
                        was the behaviour of imports and exports of EEE and WEEE, and the tracers for the study
                        were selected.
                   3)   Database of waste managers in 2021, an internal analysis performed within the PREAL
                        project. 25
                   4)   The 2010 national census and sociodemographic projections developed by the National
                        Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC), from which the sociodemographic and
                        economic indicators of Argentina were obtained. 26


                   25   The PREAL project has not been finalized, so the information arising from it has not been published officially
                      at the time of writing this paper.
                   26   The latest census was conducted on 18 May 2022, and final census results are expected by the end of the
                      year. At the time of the census, data analysis was already completed.
