Strengthening Cyber Resilience of DFS Critical Infrastructure

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is pleased to invite you to the live webinar “Episode 9: Strengthening Cyber Resilience of Digital Financial Services Critical Infrastrucure”, which will take place on  30 April 2026, from 14:00 – 15:00 CET via Zoom.

As Digital Financial Services continue to expand, ensuring the cyber resilience of DFS ecosystems has become increasingly important to safeguard critical infrastructure, protect consumers, and maintain trust in digital financial systems. Strengthening resilience requires not only robust technical controls, but also structured approaches to assessing readiness, identifying gaps, and improving response capabilities across stakeholders.

This session will introduce the Cyber Security Resilience Assessment Toolkit for DFS Critical Infrastructure, developed under the ITU DFS Security Lab. The toolkit provides regulators and DFS stakeholders with a structured methodology to assess cybersecurity preparedness, identify resilience gaps, and strengthen oversight of DFS ecosystems.

The webinar will also feature practical perspectives from a telecommunications regulator, UNCDF, and a mobile network operator, highlighting how different stakeholders are approaching cyber resilience in DFS environments. These contributions will provide insights into policy and regulatory considerations, development and coordination support, as well as operational and implementation challenges from the industry perspective.
