The Joint Correspondence Group on IoT Security (JCG-IoTSec) was created by TSAG in May 2025 to deliberate on the topic of Internet of things (IoT) security as a response to WTSA-24 Action 7. It was open to participation to all entities entitled to attend ITU-T Study Groups 17 and 20 standardization activities. The JCG was discontinued by TSAG in January 2026, which instructed the concerned study groups to continue coordination of the work via the normal means.
The JCG-IoTSec activities were primarily conducted through a dedicated mailing list, jcgiotsec@lists.itu.int (now closed). The mailing liist archive can be accessed
