Swiss Academic and Research Projects Exhibition

​​​Kaleidoscope 2026 - AI and frontier technologies for good is the sixteenth edition of ITU’s flagship peer-reviewed academic conference, convening leading voices from universities, industry, and research institutions worldwide. The 2026 edition focuses on the transformative potential of frontier technologies for public good, in general and for telecommunications, in particular. To highlight the vital role of academia, Kaleidoscope 2026 is hosting a dedicated exhibition area showcasing outstanding university-led innovations from the Host Country.​

Objectives


The Swiss Academic and Research Projects Exhibition aims to:
  • Showcase ongoing, innovative research and prototypes from Swiss academic and research institutions, demonstrating how AI and frontier technologies can meaningfully advance the public good.
  • Highlight how universities are applying AI and frontier technologies to address real‑world societal and sectoral challenges, with particular emphasis on solutions and AI standards that advance the evolution, resilience, and accessibility of telecommunications systems and services.

Exhibitors


We welcome submissions from Swiss:​
  • ​University research labs, innovation hubs, and centres
  • Undergraduate and graduate student teams
  • Individual students

Topics of interest


The Swiss Academic and Research Projects Exhibition calls for proposals that explore how frontier technologies, including artificial intelligence, brain–computer interface, embodied AI, autonomous driving, geospatial, space computing and quantum information technologies, interface with telecommunications. Submissions are welcome on any of the suggested topics within the three Kaleidoscope 2026 tracks:
  • Track 1: Frontier technological bases in intelligent and resilient network infrastructures
  • Track 2: Applications and services for sustainable development
  • Track 3: Social, economic, environmental and policy dimensions of AI and frontier technologies

Submission


Applicants are invited to submit the following materials:
  • Project title
  • Project creators, including names and institutional affiliations
  • ​Project summary (300–500 words) outlining the societal or technical challenge addressed, the methodology or technological approach, and the expected impact
  • Supporting materials, such as prototype descriptions, posters, visuals, videos, or demo links
  • List of equipment you plan to bring at the exhibit (e.g. monitors, computers, supports for demos, projects, lights, etc)
  • Contact information for the corresponding presenter as well as all on‑site team members
