Ruben has been with HP for 8 years, based in South Africa as Environmental Manager for Africa he is responsible for environmental legal compliance, sales support, End of Life operations and industry development.
Ruben’s educational background includes a B-Tech degree and a number of business management diplomas and certifications. Ruben is a registered business standards auditor in environmental, health and safety, quality and IT services management disciplines. Ruben also serves on technical committees and associations related to the topic of e-waste and business compliance standards.
Ruben has been researching E-Waste management in Africa through desk studies and demonstration pilots that have contributed in the development of sustainable recycling operations. Ruben is currently focusing on developing sustainable e-waste industries in Africa by making use of waste beneficiation practices, whereby the processing of e-waste material fractions and the manufacturing of new products are performed in the country generating the actual waste.
