Patricia Muchiri is the head of the Consumer Affairs Division at the Communications Authority of Kenya the converged Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) regulator in Kenya. She is responsible for Consumer empowerment through Education, provision of information and spearheading the Authority’s efforts in the development of Consumer Protection mechanisms where she has served for 10 years .
She has over 15 years experience in Customer relationship management, strategic consumer advocacy, sales and marketing. Prior to joining the Authority, she has wide working experience in the private sector having worked in the Energy, Insurance and the FMCG sectors.
Patricia is a member of the Marketing society of Kenya , Associate member of the Society of Consumer Affairs professionals (SOCAP),USA, Affiliate member of the American Marketing association (AMA) and Fellow of Telecommunications Management Institute of Canada (TEMIC). She is a holder of a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Nairobi.
Her current area of focus online safety internet safety for children, online privacy, cyber bullying and the empowerment of consumer organizations through the development of Partnerships.
She is a patron of the WM Foundation on grief counseling in children, runs a Youth mentorship program and with has other interests in Women empowerment and agribusiness. She is a proud mother of one son.
